New guy on the road 56 windshield questions

thank you in advance for any help on this ***** can any one tell me if the front windshield on a 56 olds 4 dr sedan uses clips or is it just the rubber molding & the chrome outer molding in the channel needed also the rear glass are there clips used here also? What should i use for the sealant when installing the glass? when i got the car the moldinds were off & the both glass panels were just setting in place

I've pulled glass from both a 1954 and a 55. The clips that hold the trim on went through the rubber gasket and had a threaded stud with nut on the inside of the car. Really hard to remove! That was the only clips I saw holding the glass in, but it did the job. I didn't see any sign of sealant on the glass. John

Should be the same for 56.

I just checked the body parts book and the clips have the same part numbers for 55 and 56.
