A little help on a source for a clear windshield for my 55

Seems the body shop is having a problem finding a replacement windshield for my 55 convertible in clear, non shaded top. They have found a couple in a blue and green but no clear. Anyone know of a supplier that has replacement glass glass for this vintage car. This is the only thing keeping me from picking up my car... Tedd

Hi Ted
I've not seen clear but I see auctions posted for lots of different cars by this guy. It might be worth a phone call to see if he can get it for you.

Windshield hasn't come in yet( has been located and ordered for a week now), car is complete and ready to go and the shop said I could pick it up and play with it this weekend then return it on Monday but it looked like rain Friday morning so I opted to leave it till it's completely finished. (they are doing some extra work unrelated to the accident for me, buff and polish type stuff. The windshield should go in the same day as it arrives so it's very close......Tedd

For future reference, keep these people in mind. Auto City Classic, Isanti, MN They have a good supply of windshields, side and back glass as well as gas tanks and more. I spoke with them at Carlisle.

Next time, might try Perkin's Auto Glass? They have a pretty good review for your area. They're located @ 511 Pearson Road, Paradise, CA

I might be wrong with my CA Geography, but I think that's close to Forest Ranch, CA?

Anyways, they do custom glass and have pretty good rates according to their reviews.

Hope that helps!

Schools001, Perkins is the one who is installing the glass but the glass was purchased through Concours Elite from another glass supplier who makes them up as needed( they have the original molds I'm told). Perkings does great work though they even replaced all the stainless screws on the trim so nothing went back together buggered up. ...Tedd
