Has anyone here installed an Ididit or similar tilt/aftermarket steering column in their '56 Olds? I'm sure a Chevrolet-style column will "fit" the car, but my primary concern is the transmission. My car has the Model "O" Jetaway Hydramatic. I'm concerned about the shift pattern on the Jetaway being the same or similar enough to the other GM transmissions to allow for correct shifting with an aftermarket column shift. The other, much harder issue, is the shift indicator. Any help will help.
