Does anyone know of a source for the front axle brake backing plate gaskets for a 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88? There is a gasket on either side of the backing plate on the front brakes, a simple round one on the outside of the backing plate and a larger one on the inside. Attached is a picture of what I'm looking for. I talked to Fusick and they weren't aware of any gaskets on the front backing plates (I did see that they list gaskets for the rear axle backing plates). I can always make my own from some paper stock but I'd rather just buy premade ones if available). I was only able to salvage a small piece of the out gasket (that semi-circle sitting in the middle of the larger inner gasket.

with the same questions. I can confirm that there absolutely are two gaskets on the front backing plate of a 1954 Super 88 (and probably the same for a 1955) as the remnants above show. They are just super thin paper ones and easy to destroy when pulling off the plates.

 

1955 Oldsmobile Master Chassis Parts book shows group #6.038 gasket, front brake oil drain part #411196 (fits 1939 thru 1955 maybe more)

Another member on this forum said he purchased the gaskets from Fusick I believe
