55 olds front axle backing plate gasket

Hello everyone, i am getting ready to re-assemble my front suspension/brakes and i can't find the paper gasket that goes between the hub and the backing plate, fusick shows the rear but i can't find the front. Anyone know if this part is available?

You won't find a gasket, because there never was one there.
The backing plate bolts directly on the spindle. No gasket or sealer required.

I definitely removed a very thin paper gasket, I remember trying to save it but it ripped into several pieces.

I don't remember one also, but if you feel better with one use gasket material and make one. Tedd

Opon further review...........
I checked in an older parts book and found the following ; Group 6.038 Seal, front wheel backing plate. Part # 562419.
I googled the number and came up with nothing.

Since it was a thin paper gasket, I would suggest smearing the surfaces lightly with RTV silicone.
Put it together, and call it a day.

This is what shows up from Fusick, the circled is kind of what i remember the shape being, (been over a year since i took it apart), so i guess i wrongly assumed that this set was for the rear axle only, so the round would be for the rear axle and the other must be the front?

I believe Group # 6.038 Gasket, front brake oil drain starts at 1939 thru 1955 and possibly a lot longer as my book is effective January 01, 1955 and lists part number 411196.

Just above that to group # 6.037 which is just above the seal earlier, Deflector or Drain, front brake oil (shield or deflector on spindle)

I hope this helps.

Bob
