1957 door sill question

Getting closer to the finish line with my 1957 98 Convertible.
The floor has been replaced twice since the original and it has new inner and outer rockers.
I would like to know if the wiring harness goes inboard or outboard of the pinch weld shown below.
In the service manual I found the drawing below that shows a plate that appears to be attached below the door sill plate and goes over the pinch weld and above the harness.
Any light you can shed would be appreciated as it looks like I'll have to make the "under" plates out of sheet metal.
Pictures would be wonderful if anyone has one.

I just came across this thread. Sorry my reply is so late. Here are some pictures of my 57, 98 HT. The same plates that you show in your drawing. The first three are of the right side and then the next are the drivers side which i have not removed yet. Hope these help.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You have no idea how helpful that is.
it is apparent that the profile of my door sill and the rocker/ floor weld is somewhat different than stock but at least I have an idea now on what the final piece should look like.

ZZcruzin,
If I could ask another favor......
Would you post a closeup picture of the chrome escutcheon on the end of the rope pull on the back of the seat?
Also, what is the approximate height and width of the part and the diameter of the cylindrical part?
I haven't been able to find any of these and if I have to fabricate/ chrome them then I'd like to get them somewhat correct.
Thanks again,
Bill

See if these help Bill. I took these from my convertible also. Look familiar? The rope is just a hair larger than 1/2". The height of the chrome mounts are 2 11/16" and the width varies. The one toward the center of the split is 1 1/4" and the one closest to the door is 1 1/8". I assume because of the cover and the shape of the seat ends. I will get 2 more pictures in a minute.

Sorry about the measurements, but the best i could do. The bracket on the left side is just a little wider than the one on the right. Good luck if you decide to make these, but i think i would beat the bushes a little more and see if you can locate some. Just my 2 cents. Good luck either way. Mark.

Wow, thanks Mark.
That car looks very familiar.....exactly like mine 5 years ago (hopefully minus the rust).
I am envious of your front seat.
Mine was missing and had been replaced with something from the 70's. I never guessed how tough it would be to find a seat and all the parts.
You are right, those pieces are going to be tough to fabricate.
I'll keep looking but at least I'll be prepared in case I have to make them
