1950 Olds 88 Club Coupe question
1950 Olds 88 Club Coupe question
My shop manual indicates that in 1950 there were two Olds 88 Coupes: A Club Coupe and a Deluxe Club Coupe. But the manual doesn't explain what the distinction is. Someone told me he thought the only difference was the Deluxe Club Coupe came with a clock and radio. It seems to me that there must be other differences as well. Different interior treatments (other than clock and radio) maybe, or different exterior stainless trim pieces? Does anyone know for sure what the distinction is between these two coupes? Thanks, Evans
Hi Evans
The 1950 olds "88' Standard Coupe had a different interior than a Deluxe model, the standard seat material was grey with a black pinstripe, the Standard may or may not have had a radio or a clock, they were options.
The Standard would have had rubber stoneguards on the rear fenders,as opposed to Stainless Steel stoneguards on the Deluxe model.
the seat material on the Deluxe had (2) different materials,a grey ribbed material & a woven pattern for the top of the seats and also for the front edge of the cushions, the interior door stainless trim was also different on the two models.
do you have a 50 coupe ????
