Question Slim Jim filter?

We took the pan off our slim jim trans and it was full of sludge. We cant seem to find a filter for it anywhere and most places tell us to just clean it out because it us just a screen. It appears to us that there is a paper element in the filter as well. Is it acceptable to just clean the filter out with carb cleaner? THANKS!

Fatsco transmissions carries repair parts for the Slim Jim. Don't clean it out with carburetor cleaner. If you clean it out with anything use clean transmission fluid.

If Fatsco, Edwards or others don't have it, they show up on ebay fairly often. Just make sure you get it for the correct unit as SJ come in full-size car (Roto 10) and F85 (Roto 5) versions and the filters ARE different.
