jetaway/TH350 swap detent bracket

i have been misinformed regarding the proper bracket to hook up a detent cable for a th350 with edelbrock carb. does anyone know the "correct" part to make this happen? TCI, Edelbrock, and Summit have all been wrong so far. I realize they are not looking at the car. They have all suggested a part that bolts to the outside of the intake manifold. i need one that mounts at the base of the carb. I really appreciate the expertise here.

do you know what brand? part number? the problem has been that the parts have been listed as applicable for "GM". what they should have said is "chevy".

That's pretty universal in the Chevy-centric world. Unless the part specifically says Oldsmobile, it isn't.

The mid-70s Oldsmobiles used a kickdown bracket that bolted to the back two carb bolts on the intake. Is that what you're looking for?

Is that on all models or just A-bodies? do you know if the carb setup matters? square bore vs. spread bore. i just put an edelbrock on it with the adapter plate.

Actually, pretty much any Olds with a TH350 from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. These brackets fit a Q-jet bolt pattern. You have to cut and weld to match the square bore bolt pattern.

i had mine made, it's not to dificult to fabricate....mine is just a "L" bracket with a hole on one side to mount to the manifold, and a hole on the other side to fasten the cable too. pretty simple, and only cost me about $8 for the material itself.
