I don't have time to evaluate differences (too much on my plate at the moment). I'll provide you w/ what I think might be the appropriate diagrams from my 1971 PIM.
Hi, is this diagram the same for a 71 cutlass auto on floor ? Thanks
The column shift linkage parts are also used on floor shift cars to serve as the backdrive linkage. This locks the shifter with the key and also operates the NSS/backup light switch, which is on the column even for floor shift cars. Note that the U-shaped lever that bolts to the trans says "Except 35D55 and 35W26", which is similar. D55 is console and W26 is dual gate. Both of those used a U-shaped lever that has an extra tab for attaching the cable, as shown drawing Norm posted from the PIM.

Ok thanks Joe for the great explanation, and seriousy I thought that the column shift linkage was leftover from a conversion from auto on column to floor shift !
And here's a shot of my linkage near the frame bracket, looks like the spring is missing and the rubber bushing is not like in the drawing, can I have your opinion on this ?
Thanks for your time.

That's been hosed up by a previous owner. You can buy the correct replacement parts from pretty much any of the usual repro vendors.
