Flip it over. The end that passes through the hole points away from the arm. That way the clip provides a spring force to keep the linkage from rattling. You're also apparently missing a bushing in the hole the arm.
Thanks. I figured it out right after I posted this. It just slides on. It was bent up little too. Sometimes just walking away helps.
I think maybe that hole is just worn out. Don’t see a bushing in the manual. I’ll look some more bu I might just have to z-bar. What’s one more part and a week more or less.
as usual Joe is spot on flip the clip over but there is no bushing on the clutch fork end of the Z- bar , it looks like that hole is badly worn out and the Z-bar needs replaced or welded and it has to be removed to do it
