Hi all this set up was in an 86 442. Engine is a c head 400 bbo. Trans is th400 I believe 1970 but unsure if this from a cutlass or other model? Is this a decent trans for performance? Lastly this is a short tall not the long tail version correct? Thx Darryl

 

The OC trans was used behind the 455 2bbl motor.

 

Yes, that trans is a 1970, originally came behind 455 2bbl low compression. If the trans is in good shape, throw a shift improver kit(Trans-go is good brand), new filter and seals, and should be good to go.
