Shifter Linkage

Hi All!

I have a column shift car that originally had a metal rod linkage that went to a jetaway. I swapped out for a TH350 and we are working on finishing touches. I noticed that there is a metal shaft that attaches to a bracket that is attached to the frame under the drivers side next to the shifter mechanism on the transmission.

There seems to be a ball type connector that slips into the bracket that is not on the linkage I have. Does anyone know where I can get that piece that slips into the bracket? Also, will this same shifter linkage work with the TH350 as it did with the Jetaway?

Here are a couple pictures...

Thanks!

Bryon

You need to swap the shift arm from the Jetaway to the TH350.

Thanks Joe. I don't have the Jetaway anymore. Should this part be available new anywhere?

Also, were you able to find that power steering bracket we talked about?

I appreciate your help!

Joe,

Could I not just replace the original linkage with something like what is shown here at this website?

Thanks!

You could, but why? Is your wallet too heavy?

Seriously, you have all the parts now except for the little "U" bracket on the trans. Nothing will work better than the stock parts.

My wallet is certainly not too heavy but stock parts are at times very hard to find for me. I live in the mountains and it's not like I have a ton of junk yards that have oldsmobiles around me. Where I live most of the junk yards have trucks and jeeps and stuff like that.

Thanks.

Secondarily, and I sincerely hope this does not seem rude, but I can't help but notice you have ignored all of my questions about the power steering bracket. Is that deliberate? I thought you offered to find and send me the bracket I need for the cost of shipping. Maybe I misunderstood.

Hey Oldspackrat,

How much would you charge for the drive linkage parts I need? I will PM you my address so you can figure shipping. Thank you!
