I replaced the seals on mine either last year or the year before. The lower seal kit was very cheap and installation was fairly easy but a bit messy. I got the front end up on stands, removed all the linkages, the big nut, and the retaining clip on the bottom of the gear box, then I put a bucket under the gear box with some cardboard wrapped into a tube shape to direct the fluid into the bucket. Started the engine and turned the steering wheel to full lock for the fluid pressure to force the seal out, when the seal only partially blew out fluid went everywhere under the front end. What a mess, I'm glad I didn't do this in the garage (it was on the RV pad).

I made a seal installation tool out of a section of PVC pipe based on what I found on the web. I just found it again last weekend, so later today I'll take some pics and measurements of it and post for you.

Gotta call in to another work meeting now.

I did the 93-97 Jeep Grant Cherokee swap. The box looks almost identical but it gives you quicker ratio steering and a much bigger torsion bar for that modern car feel while retaining the same turn radius. It does require a new rag joint steering coupler and adapters for the hose fittings. With a junkyard box the swap cost me under $100.

Here's a picture of the seal installation tool that I made. It's 1.5" diameter PVC pipe with a line marked at 7/10 inch for seating the first seal.
