Steering box

Any ideas what to do with a leak from the bottom of the steering box?
just get a new one or try and do the seal?

Installing a seal kit is fairly easy and inexpensive. I did it a year or two ago as there was a substantial leak and the seal kit worked great.

I think I just removed the nut and pulled the arm off the gear box shaft leaving the other end attached; just move it out of the way.

Remove the retaining clip then start the engine and turn the steering wheel to bring the pressure up and force the seal out.

Set up a bucket and a shield around the bottom of the gear box as the seal won’t come out fully and fluid will spray around it. I had a bucket but not a shield and fluid went everywhere.

I made an insertion tool out of a piece of PVC pipe cut to length with a depth mark drawn on it.

Sorry but I don’t remember a lot of the details.
