Slim jim filter attachment question

I have a replacement Wix filter for my 62 Starfire transmission, but it does not have a mounting bracket attached to bolt to the transmission. The old filter has a small attached angled bracket with a hole. Will the Wix filter stay on without the bolt?

I would not want to trust such an installation, given the vibrations the car is subjected to routinely?

When I rebuilt the Slim Jim in my 64 98 the replacement filter had a bracket which held it away from the valve body. I bought my filter from Fatsco transmissions. I also know Kanter carries hard to find parts sometimes. I wouldn't use the filter you have if there is no way to fasten it to the body of the transmission.

Thanks for the replies. I will get another filter that has the mounting bracket.
