code number

What year and car did an og transmission come out of? Also have a dual gate shifter and it does not go into 1st gear. I think the bracket on the trany may be the wrong one. It does not seem to adjust far enough. What does the correct bracket look like? This is in my 1970 442.

1970 base 442 and W32 SX Supreme were two applications that used the OG TH400.

If you are swapping to a Dual Gate from a standard shifter, did you get the Dual-Gate specific cable? It's a different length.

OG is the typical 442 trans code.
The year will be on the tag, stamped next to the OG
It's not exactly a secret code: 68OG is a 1968 trans, 70OG is a 1970 trans, etc.

Welcome to the site
can you post a pic of the brackets you have?
I vaguely recall the dual gate having a different cable, and possibly the cable mtg brkt on trans AND the selector arm bracket as well... someone who has a better grasp of this will no doubt chime in and help.
