tranny rebuild

hi, looking for some input on rebuilding my tranny out of 65 starfire ,400, with variable pitch torque converter,i bought it to the tranny shop, got a call said it was very dirty as far as the valve body, said might need a solinoid, he can,t find one , also he says he can,t find a tranny filter for it , so it is depressing , cause i want to keep it the same ,was a great tranny , when i had my starfire in 1971,and on the torque converter ,says can only get it rebuilt in goergia, i bought him up a second one today out of my parts car , im hoping for some better news , but was wondering if anyone knows of any sources for some parts ,such as a solinoid ,and fiter.really appreciate any help on this matter, thanks will.

You can also check out Fatsco transmissions. They have parts for older automatic transmissions.
