TH400 kickdown

Does anyone have the parts I would need for a 455 to set-up the kickdown linkage? I don't have any of the parts, so even a picture of the carb would be helpful.

Th400 is electric switch either on the fire wall or pedal depending on year you are working on or what mods have been done

You can go with a stock gas pedal type switch or you can just rig one up to your carb linkage and run a wire to your trans.

You can even put a switch on the shifter if you wanted to. Just need 12volts to to selonoid. Are you thinking of a TH350 kickdown linkage? check your pan shape to make sure you have the right transmission.

Telling us the year and model would be helpful, since the parts change from year to year. For the 68-72 cars, repros are available because Chevelles use the same switch and bracket.

The 455 and TH400 are from a 76 Olds 98, currently living in a 37 Olds. I have the generic kit from Summit but the connection to the carb looks unreliable. I'd prefer having the stock hook-up and brackets. Thanks.

The year and source of the trans doesn't matter. All TH400s use a solenoid-operated kickdown valve that simply requires 12V applied to the case connector when you want to downshift. The only readily available stock switches are the 68-72 style as I noted above, but these only bolt to the accelerator pedal (under the dash) for the 68-72 A-body cars. Your 37 will require a custom switch and bracket. The switch can be anywhere in the throttle linkage so long as the switch closes at full throttle.

Just use one of the many available aftermarket switches. I will agree that all the ones I've seen appear to be "light duty". I'd use one of these switches to activate a relay, with the relay actually switching power to the solenoid valve.
