TH400 kickdown
You can go with a stock gas pedal type switch or you can just rig one up to your carb linkage and run a wire to your trans.

You can even put a switch on the shifter if you wanted to. Just need 12volts to to selonoid. Are you thinking of a TH350 kickdown linkage? check your pan shape to make sure you have the right transmission.
Telling us the year and model would be helpful, since the parts change from year to year. For the 68-72 cars, repros are available because Chevelles use the same switch and bracket.
The 455 and TH400 are from a 76 Olds 98, currently living in a 37 Olds. I have the generic kit from Summit but the connection to the carb looks unreliable. I'd prefer having the stock hook-up and brackets. Thanks.
Just use one of the many available aftermarket switches. I will agree that all the ones I've seen appear to be "light duty". I'd use one of these switches to activate a relay, with the relay actually switching power to the solenoid valve.
