Hello, 68 Olds Cutlass Supreme 2speed transmission needs rebuilt. Looking for a step by step manual or video to guide me through process. Also who makes the best master kits & torque converters... Thanks in advance
You should have a factory service manual which should give you everything you need. They are available on ebay. Fatsco is probably one of the best places for transmission parts.
You're going to find information and parts for the ST300 are hard to come by. The CSM is mandatory. I've not seen an ATSG guide for the ST300, unfortunately. Fatsco is one of your better sources for parts.
Thank you to, redoldsman, Joe padavano, BackinTheGame I for the info provided. Will get manual suggested & go from there. Cool site. Appreciate info. Be safe
If the the car is intended to be a driver rather than a concours restoration, you might consider a THM 350 swap. It can significantly improve the fun-to-drive factor.

That was going to be my suggestion as well.
Hard to beat the overall drivability of a 3 speed over the 2 speed. The added first gear makes the engine feel like it has 50 hp more, with zero trade off.
Hello Spartan 707, I have a 1968 Olds Cutlass Supreme Holiday Coupe which I removed the ST300 years ago,(1992), and Installed a TH350. It made a big difference in the cars acceleration and overall driveability. I still have my ST300, which I will keep. I have a rebuild kit and e few filters and pan gaskets in case I put it back on. It worked fine when I pulled it off but I wanted a 3 speed. If you can, you might want to splurge and go with a 200-R4 4 speed. You would have good acceleration and cruise at low RPM.s on the freeway and spend less on gas. Take care and good luck.
