Speedo drive gear coming off
Original 1967 with 2 speed tranny. The drive gear on tranny shaft keeps coming off ( 2x in 1000 miles) after a while. I adjusted the clip for more tension and holding power.. but to no avail.
Speedo, cable and driven gear seem to be free enough. Looking for any ideas before I open it uo..again!

When I rebuild any 4 speed with a plastic gear and clip most of them are off. I replace them with a steel press on one. Measure you shaft OD and see if it measures a few thousandths more than the ID of the steel drive gear. I am not home to measure it but IIRC it should be 1.410"
