New clutch for a 68 442 - opinions

My dad has a 68 442 with 4 speed, and what feel like 3.42 gears based on the tach. His clutch is shot after 100K miles of use. He doesn't really do internet, so I need to gather parts for him. I imagine any decent auto repair shop can R&R a clutch on a rear drive GM car. I know the Z bar bushings are also shot - it feels "sloppy". He's an older guy, and the engine is still stock, so I want something that he can both push the pedal, but wont burn to a crisp when he does a burnout. I was looking at the following, but wonder about the "high load cover". Price is only $107:

And these for the z bar bushings. Anything else I need?

Centerforce I or II.

Soft pedal pressure and a great grip.

Centerforce II, specifically. You won't be sorry.

For under 400 HP a Centerforce I is more than adequate. I called Centerforce directly and that's what they recommended for my stock rebuilt 455

If pedal effort is really an issue, you might consider a McLeod RST / RXT dual disc clutch. The pedal effort is a lot lower than the Centerforce units mentioned above. I had a Centerforce and now have an RXT. McLeod does not list a kit for our cars, so you will need to work with someone like Jody Haag to get a kit put together.

The downside to the RST / RXT setup is that they are expensive. You might also notice a little bit of clutch rattle if you lug the motor below about 1800 rpm.
