Need Reccomedations for Clutch/Pressure Plate
Need Reccomedations for Clutch/Pressure Plate
Doing an auto to 4 speed swap in my 1968 Cutlass. Going with a stock 4 barrel 455 from a 69 car, stock flywheel, Muncie m20, 3:42 post gears. Looking for recommendations for the pressure plate/clutch assembly. Just going to be a street driver looking for stock feel or slight upgrade but open to all suggestions.
LUK is a good one as well.
Be sure to always buy the pressure plate, disc and TO bearing as a complete KIT. It generally comes with the alignment tool as well. The height (thickness when laid flat on the bench) can very on the TO bearing according to the pressure plate. For example the LUK uses a new style composite TO bearing, which is supposed to be an improved design. Its a bit shorter verses an off the shelf all metal OEM TO bearing.
If you did not do it yet...have the flywheel surfaced by a competent machine shop.
I tried to upload a pic that I have but this rotted firewall at work wont allow it...big bro is everywhere!
Ill do tonight...GAH!
