Need help...

Tranny fluid leaked out on the way home the other day. Checked the lines, they seemed to be intact. Not sure what else to check and where. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. 455 engine, no clue as to what transmission!!! Thanks!

Where does it seem to be coming from now that it is parked? Pan, dipstick, modulator, kickdown solenoid connector (assuming it's the TH400)? Also check up near the torque converter, you will have to pull the plastic converter inspection cover to see up in there, but the pump seal could be leaking.

The problem with trans leaks is the fluid runs everywhere and makes it hard to find the source, especially if you have been driving. Clean it up and keep an eye on it.

Or you could be burning it up thru the vacuum line from the trans modulator to the intake.

If its not on the ground, there are only 2 other places for it to go. The radiator, generally when this happens the trans fills with water, but I have seen the opposite. The other place is it gets sucked into the intake or carb, and is burnt!

Thanks for the replies...It all leaked out while driving and finished in the driveway. Pulled the plastic cover, couldn't tell anything. Honestly, didn't know what to look for. Thought about adding more trans. fluid and seeing where it comes out!!

Thats a good idea, depending on the pan it could hold as much as 8-9 quarts. You should be able to look underneath and see where its leaking from! I've also found if you lay cardboard under there you can see where its dropping from and look straight up! Gravity is a law!!
