Need Flywheel Help

Working on t5 manual conversion. Purchased a 10.5 clutch and pressure plate. Shop sold me a light weight flywheel along with it but the bolt pattern is not correct. It looks like a flywheel with the same bolt pattern as a chevy 350 flywheel. Maybe he grabbed the wrong one.

Does anyone have a part number or any size measurements that might help me locate the correct flywheel quickly as we have everything torn down in local shop. Thanks

So is it the bolt holes through the flywheel into the crank shaft that are wrong? I've only had factory ones that don't have a part number cast into them.

Here's a thread that cites a flywheel number

https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...g-numbers.html

If this doesn't cross reference to the aftermarket one you want it might be worth checking ebay. I know there's aftermarket flywheels posted there.

Probably assumed it's a Chevy 350 engine because, hey, it's a GM part, right?

A quick search on Summit:

If you're searching around, watch out for late model (cheap) flywheels. They won't work either.

A Chebby flywheel has equally spaced mounting holes and the Olds flywheel has one hole with a wider space between holes than the others. So it only goes on one way!!!

Olds flywheels have 166 ring gear teeth. Chevy have 153 or 168.

And of course, 64-67 Olds flywheels have a different crank flange bolt pattern than the 68-90 flywheels.

Best I can tell there are no stock aftermarket flywheels for a 72 350 except the $400 ones. 166 tooth, 2.5 center, 3.75 center to center mount holes, 13.91 OD.

There are SFI approved steel billet flywheels out there, such as CAT and PRW, costing a lot less. Check ebay, etc.

Here's a hint. To to Google and type in "455 Oldsmobile flywheel" (without quotes). I used 455 instead of 350 because they are the same flywheel and this cuts down on listings for Chebby flywheels. One that pops up is this one for $269:

A Chevy flywheel will not fit an Olds. When you first said that your parts didnt' fit,I thought you meant that the clutch didn't bolt up to the flywheel. Now it sounds like the flywheel doesn't fit the crank, which means it is for a Chevy or some other make.

I have a Mcleod billet flywheel, but there are other companies maiking OEM style flywheels, aluminum, and billet, for Oldsmobile.
