Identify this part?
This looks like a sensor of some sort near the speedometer cable. Anyone know what sort of sensor it is, if that is indeed what it is? The trans is a bit greasy right now, the part in the photo seems to seep fluid (o-ring I assume). I haven't seen the ID plate on it, but based on the model/engine/exhaust configuration I am assuming a TH400. Thank you.

If you look closely there is a missing pin that is broken off. That would be the connector for the kickdown and TCS solenoid switch on a TH400. From the looks of things there is only the black/orange wire (kickdown) in the photo and not a green one (TCS) so the pin was removed so the plug would fit on it.

Yeah, I did notice that. Interestingly the plug does have a second slot in it, but no wire/blade connector in it. I thought it may be a kick down solenoid, but every one I have searched for on auto parts sites looks nothing like it.
Anyway, is this just pressed in with an O-ring?
Thanks!

Scroll down to post 17. This seems to be a very detailed tear down of a TH400.

Yep, gotta drop the pan...
JWO 4-2011 has a good writeup on this common connector leak.
Get a new connector (as it may be brittle and break on ya), drop the pan, disconnect wire inside, squeeze tabs that hold it in, and push it out. The new one will snap right in. Connect the wires and reassemble!
