Help with removing th350 from 70 cutlass

Hello I was wondering if anyone knew of a thread that walks through the removal of a th350 with floor shifter. I have the engine out and the tranny is being held up by a floor jack. I have the entire car up on jack stands as well. I have never done this and want to do it right so I don't break anything. Any help would be great, thank you.

Remove driveshaft.
Disconnect shifter.
Disconnect speedo drive.
Disconnect TCS wire, if connected.
Remove crossmember-to-transmission bolt.
Remove two nuts and bots holding crossmember to frame on each side.
Jack transmission up a bit.
Remove crossmember.
Lower transmission (if tailshaft tips down, it with spew oil).

Is it better to drain the tranny oil before or after removal?

Don't forget the cooler lines and kickdown cable!
Pretty much a textbook how to procedure. If you can get the pan off to drain it that would be good. Maybe you will be lucky and have a trans pan with a factory drain plug.

There is no drain plug but that answers my question about draining before or after removal. Thank you

No matter what you do, you will get fluid out the tailshaft, so be prepared.

And, yeah, lines and kickdown.

And vacuum line to modulator.

Draining it before will at least reduce the size of the oil spill when you do pull the trans.
