Dip stick

Just had my turbo 350 rebuilt. The dipstick is 23 1/2 inches long and the tube is 26 inches long,,, is this correct? It's for a 350 69 cutlass. I'm thinking its not correct after all those years it may have been replaced ???

Pretty sure one or maybe both are wrong. The dipstick full point should be even with the trans pan rail. Other than original looks, the dipsticks from other TH350 are identical, as long as the tube and dipstick are a matched set.

Here is the information straight out of the 1969 Oldsmobile Chassis Service Manual. Note Item 3 - 350 engines. You can look it up if you want - it's on page 6B-36

Allan, I think he is looking for the trans dipstick measurments.
I found a stick in the shop that measured 29" from the tip to
the bottom lip of the cap that sits on top of the tube. I didn't
have a tube to measure though.

I think the stick you have is to short, but the tube is probably
the right one. They stick out of the tube at the bottom.
