Crankshaft bushing for auto to manual conversion

I'm thinking about converting my 67 Delmont 88 to a manual trans. One of the major issues is that the crank isn't drilled for the manual input shaft. Mondello sells a crankshaft bushing to make this conversion. Apparently the input shaft of the manual trans needs to be shortened.

Has anyone used one of these? Also, is there a good "one-stop" supplier for transmission, bell housing, flywheel, hydraulic clutch slave cylinder, etc.?

Thanks,
Chris

If you are taking the engine and transmission out as a unit, then why not pull the crankshaft and have a pilot bushing hole drilled and bushing installed. Most machine shops would do this for a small fee. I spent $10 years ago on a Rocket 371 that had DC hydro. I installed a Dual range hydro that had a pilot shaft. While you have the crank out, you can put a new rear main seal in and front seal.

Just a thought.

Thanks! I'm trying to avoid taking the engine out of the car; however, this may be the only good option.

The conversion bushing can be done painlessly.

rather than shorten the trans shaft, get a 1/2" shank 5/8 drill bit and drill the crank a bit deeper. It is a clearance hole, need not be perfectly centered or round. WAY less work that the mitaswells you run into pulling the crank...

I am doing this right now. You need to make sure you press that bearing in as far as it will go. I put it in flush with the out side and the splines hit the bearing and the trans was about 5/8 of and inch out. I was not happy. Dick Miller sells the same bearing 20 bucks less than Mondello. I am installing a TKO 600 in my 1970 S
