One suggestion: Get Bruce Roe's switch pitch controller, after verifying it works. It probably just isn't getting juice, if it isn't working, but double-check.

Roe makes an electronic controller that measures engine load and has adjustable timers so that the switch pitch works whenever conditions warrant, rather than only at idle or WOT. He's currently integrating an electronic vacuum switch in place of a mechanical switch, which should also lower the price a bit.
