Steering gear and brake booster rebuilders?

Does anyone have any experience with a steering gear rebuilder? I googled it and found several but not sure who to go with. From what i am seeing, it cost alot more than i thought it would.

I hear brakebooster.com is good, anyone have experience with them?

Lee Manufacturing will rebuild the steering box. You can get the info if you google them.

You should consider swapping the steering box for the jeep grand cherokee unit. There are several threads about it here. I just completed it myself on my 68 cutlass.

I never used brakebooster.com, but I have heard many good things about "Booster Dewey". He has a good reputation and had done many boosters for members of the Riviera Owners Association. You can google him for comparision. You can also check with Rob of Lady and Rob, he had his booster replated by someone and it looked great.

Like 68 Conv said, you can do the grand cherokee swap (I did that in my 71 and love it) or get go the rebuild route. Lares had a good reputation for doing a standard rebuild as well as performance fast ratio boxes.

Chip does a great job restoring original power steering boxes and pumps

Jim does a great job plating and rebuilding original brake boosters. IMHO, Jim's plating is much tougher than most

Chip at Power Steering Services does great work and is a really nice guy. I have never heard any complaints. He can also change your stock box to a quick ratio. I am sure there are lots of other good rebuilders but he is the only one I would use. I have no recommendations on brake boosters.

While Chip did great work, he did forget to upgrade mine to the fast ratio.
I called him on it and he said he would certainlyy take care of it at no charge whenever I wanted because it has a lifetime warranty.
While I would like to have it corrected, changing it out again is a bear...

Guess nobody is perfect. That is one of the reasons I am usually reluctant to recommend anybody regardless of my own experience.
