'70 442 TH400 Kick down switch adjustment

Hello,
What is the correct way to adjust the kickdown switch on a '70 442 TH400. Seems like the barrel diameter of the switch is too small and you have to push way to hard on the gas pedal to get the car to down shift.
Any info would be helpful. I actual added a piece of gas line over the barrel of the switch to increase the diameter. I'm sure there's a better way.

If I remember correctly you pull the switch all the way up (you'll feel it clicking) and then floor the pedal and that should adjust it properly. If you still have issues (like I do), you may need a replacement switch.
