What speedometer drive gear is in a 67 442 TH400 with a stock 3.08
differential and 14" tires? I'm having a 3.55 posi installed. I need to know so I can obtain the correct driven gear to have it on hand when the work is done. Can't find the stock drive gear info anywhere.

 

Can't answer this question without knowing the size of the tires. 14" is the size of the RIM. Unless you are running with the tires flat, we need to know the outside diameter of the TIRE.

 

Joe, Thanks for the reply. The tire diameter is 25.9", a 205/70-14. That was the factory stock tire, so I'm looking for what the speedometer drive gear is as it came out of the factory. One website defaulted to a 15 tooth gear in their calculation algorithm in the th400 section of their site. I can't confirm the 15. Another web site said it was probably a 17 0t 18.
