1957 Oldsmobile 88 Jetaway Transmission Filter

Good morning, does anyone know where I can get a replacement filter (new or used)? Are there other transmissions from around this period that would have used the same filter? Any thoughts welcome. Thanks, David

I had checked online before I posted, but I should give them a call. I have an inquiry in with Then and Now and Charlie Tranny. I also plan to call Northwest Transmission. Parts. I'd like to know if the '57 Olds filter was used on other models and years. Thanks, David

Good morning, I was successful finding a used transmission filter. It is installed and filtering my trans fluid. I have the old one in case I can get it refurbished at some point.
Thanks, David

There is no refurbishing of trans filters.
Toss it.

Good morning Charlie, I have heard that from a number of people and yet my seasoned transmission expert 3 miles from my home says he's aware of rebuilders. It's nothing urgent for me, but I will look into it further. Thanks, David

Keep the old filter. Even if filters aren't commonly rebuilt you might be able to use the housing if you need to add an aftermarket in the future. Especially since that Jetaway isn't a TH400 or TH350.
