Dipstick won't go back in, 70 Toro

Help, I pulled the oil dipstick to check the oil on my 70 Toronado and now it goes about halfway down and bumps into something inside the tube when you try to put it back in. Anyone ever have this issue before?

I thought my Toro had a flat spot on the tube where you had to rotate the dip stick to get past?

Do you know if the dipstick is original?
Or is this the first problem you have had on it?
I might replace my dipstick on mine becouse it is really hard to put it back in. Hope it works out.
