Comfortron question
Comfortron question
Since I had to remove the instrument cluster to remove and repair the destroyed wire bundle discussed in my previous posts, I decided that was the time to also fix and restore that as well. The first piece I'm tackling is the climate controller. My car has the Comfortron system, and I want to confirm that the activation (open) temperature for the two port thermal vacuum switch attached to the unit is 70 degrees. Is that correct? If so, I should be able to put it in the refrigerator for an hour or so and see if it closes.
If anyone is interested, I can post some pictures of this small restoration project. I do not plan to test the circuit unless I suspect there is a problem during operation. Nothing appears physically damaged or burnt, and a lot of the components have to be removed from the board to properly test them. Seems like a lot of work without indication so far of a problem. This is really going to be a clean and lube effort unless I find something. The thermal switch is easy to test, so I want to do that. Thanks for all the help so far with getting the car back on the road.
