Will '67 Toro wheels fit a '66 Toro?

Hi guys - like the title says - can someone tell me if '67 Toro wheels will fit a stock, 4-wheel drum brake '66? I have no idea if the '67 wheels are from a front drum or front disc car.

Also - are the wheels from a '67 front disc / rear drum Toro identical? ( front vs rear )

I came across a set of 4 chrome wheels for sale and the ad says they fit '66/'67 Toros, but I figured I should ask you guys first. Price is $275 for all 4. Is that a good deal if they're straight and chrome is in decent driver shape?

Thanks!!

Ron

The problem would be trying to put drum brake wheels on a disc brake car so you should be fine.

66 toro wheels have a reinforcement plate around where the lugs nuts tighten down.67 do not.also i have never seen a 67 with disc brakes 68 up yes.if you look at a 66-67 wheel the wheel dishes back to accept the deep trim ring the 68 disc wheels have a narrow trim ring.

I'm pretty sure they are the same wheel. I just picked up a set of 5 that are in VGC. I paid $625 to my door and I thought that was a steal. Better than the ones I had on the car. I have a set of 4 now. Two chrome, two not. Beat up centers and trim rings. For sale. $300. I would say your deal is right on the mark if they are in decent shape. You can always paint them. Love these cars.

Thanks guys. I think I will bring one of my wheels and a tape measure with me for comparison when I go to look at the chrome rims for sale. I will look for the reinforced center and the placement of the valve stem. Thanks for your help!

They sure would look nice with a set of Diamondback redlines on them!!

66 and drum brake 67 use the same wheel (and brake drums) front and rear.

67 disc brake and 68-72 all use the same wheel, and 73-78 Toronado/Eldorado use the same wheel.

I'm going to go to redlines next year when the car may be done. I agree, that look is great.

You can also put the '66 chrome wheels on a '68 or '69, but only if you have 4 wheel drums.

Hi fellas - I ended up getting a nice driver quality set of factory chrome wheels locally. Far from perfect but they definitely look good on the car!

Thanks for your help!
