Looking for Fair/Good 1966 Toronado Telescopic Steering Wheel

I am looking to replace my Toronado's deteriorated telescopic steering wheel. This is one of the last things I need to finish my interior restoration project. So... What I am hoping to find is a complete 1966 Toronado/Ninety Eight Telescopic Steering Wheel in fair to good condition. However, I would be happy just finding another 1967/1968 Toronado/Ninety Eight (3 Spoke) Telescopic Steering Wheel in the same condition.

I believe there are companies that restore steering wheels. If you can't find a donor car this might be worth looking into.

I am considering doing that, but thought I would try this first.

I have been trying to check ebay pretty frequently, but haven't had much luck. I really don't need a column, but I might just have to buy the entire column to get the wheel.

If your original wheel is damaged you can also buy a cover for it. I invested in a cover from Wheelskins and it was the best $50 I've spent on my car. It's not OE, but it would suffice until you bit the bullet and had it restored.

These covers are much better than the lousy foam ones you buy from the auto parts store.

I really like how you can order exact size. Much nicer than the wrap around kind. I think i'll get one of these until I can find a factory wheel in better condition.

I know you will be pleased with your purchase. Just remember "tight is right."

I decided to take a swing at restoring my Toronado's devastating steering wheel. I filled all the cracks with epoxy, sanded like a boss, painted, sanded some more, painted, let dry really well, and then installed the really nice leather steering wheel cover you recommended... I think it turned out really nice... Its not perfect, but much easier on the eyes...

Thanks again for the recommendation!!!

That's awsome that you're steering wheel turned out well. My father and I also filled the cracks on a steering wheel he had in his 69 Delta 88. I believe there are actual kits you can buy from Eastwood for this purpose.
