only one I can take a swing at is the 5Y represents the 442-only fender with the fake vent insert.so the 5Y in the trim tag is the only thing on the car itself that prove the 442 option was added around that cowl section on the assembly line. Everything else could have been added later, but that cowl and cowl tag was born as a 442.
Wait, I'm talking out my a$$...maybe it was 5V and not 5Y that noted a 442. I never should have started typing.

Viking - this car isn't a 442, it's a Toronado.
01D - Build month/week. 4th week of January 1966
66 - model year
3 - Oldsmobile division
96 - Toronado
87 - Sport Coupe Hardtop (Deluxe model - 34,630 produced in 66)
L - Suspect Lansing Plant
EUC - code for the Toronado ("E" Body production).
U U - Paint code upper/lower Dubonnet - an exclusive Toro color this year
See if this matches anything on your car; this is what I found after some time spent researching:
Column 1
E - Tinted Windshield and Windows
X - Power Windows
Y - *possibly tilt steering*
S - Power Trunk Release
Column 2
K - Air injection reactor system? Is this a kally four nya car?
Column 3
P - ??
Column 5
Y - Deluxe front and rear seat belts
Heck of a nice car.

I wondered that too Scot. I had it in there, but deleted it. I went back and looked at the A51 option (strato) and they are standard on the Deluxe model. So it very well could be.

Kurt clarified a code on reclining passenger seat a couple weeks ago if someone can find that thread.
Just to expand on what Allan found, 9600= Toronado Deluxe (Standards were 9400). EUC = Euclid Ohio Fisher Body plant- 66-70 Toronado bodies were built there and shipped to Lansing for final assembly.
Not completely sure the K means AIR equipped as body plates generally indicate stuff that had to be installed at the Fisher plant.

re: K code. There were 3 of them according to one of the Toronado sites. The reason I asked if it was a CA car was that would make it more logical to have an AIR system.
Thank you for the clarification of EUC. I was having a beeatch of a time with that.

The column 2 K? There were 3 of them listed, and AC was one of them. I was shocked (just shocked I tell you) that Toronado wouldn't come with AC standard.....
This is so neat finding out info about cars that I don't have a snowball's hope in he77 of owning. Thanks to all for their legwork...
