Air Conditioner Muffler

On my 1967 Toronado, the line that runs from the A/C muffler to the compressor has a leak. I don’t know if this is the original line because it looks like quite a kluge! Two questions:

1. Is this the original plumbing? If not if you have a photo of what it should look like, could you send it to me please?

2. Where can a I get a replacement part for this? It looks like the line is integral to the muffler, so I assume that I need to replace the muffler.

Craig, that's not the OE AC hose. It was modified by a previous owner.

Unfortunately, I don't know where you can get AC parts for your Toronado. Fusick and Kanter apparently don't carry AC parts. You might consider going to a hydraulic hose shop in your area to see if your system can be modded for custom AC lines.

I'm going to wager that no one sells correct factory replacement hoses for an early Toro. Your best bet is to contact a vendor like Old Air Products and ask them if they can make a factory-correct hose and muffler assembly for your application.

Straight from the parts book. I know the GM parts departments around here would keep a lot of these fittings in stock.

Looks like an AC shop might have boogered something back together to get a customer going.

74 parts book doesn't list the premade hose assembly for 66-67 Toronado but does show fittings and hose required to make them. Hope you can enlarge this enough to read them. My 67 CSM is packed up but someone should be able to post the AC illustration from it.

Thanks to all who replied. Believe it or not, I actually found a NOS AC muffler at Oldsmobile Obsolete.
