67 Toronado Motor Mounts

Looking to take out and rebuild engine on Toronado later on. While it is out, it might be a good idea to get new motor and transmission mounts. I see Fusicks does not have them, but Rock Auto does. Any idea if they are in fact the correct ones that will fit?

Thanks

Not even close. The motor mounts that RockAuto shows are the 2262 and 2263 mounts, which fit the 1965-1970 Olds D88 and Ninety Eight. They DO NOT fit a Toro. The Toro uses a single front mount under the harmonic balancer and a pair of mounts on either side of the rear of the trans.

By the way, the transmission mount they list is also incorrect - it's for a RWD car. Of course, this is the same company that also lists a manual trans clutch kit for a Toronado...

If Fusick doesn't have the mounts, your only choice is to have your old ones revulcanized by Steele Rubber.

There's a big difference in the labor involved in mass producing tens of thousands of an item and doing a one-off job. $75 is less than I would have suspected. Keep in mind that they have to clean the old mounts, fabricate a mold for the rubber, THEN vulcanize the parts back together.

Some of the mounts there are $500. The Toronado mounts must be easier to refurbish. I don’t think I NEED new mounths, but seeing I am going to pull the engine. Prob best to just do it and get it done. If I ever have to have the transmission rebuilt. Do they have to remove the engine too, or can they pull it from the bottom?
