1968 Toronado Gas tank

Does anyone know where to buy a replacement fuel tank for a 1968 Oldsmobile Toronado that isn't over $600? I have searched and searched, but can't find one at a reasonable price.

Unless you find a good used one somewhere, the Fusick reproduction tank is your only option. Yes, it's expensive.

Debating whether to spring for one for my 69 while they're even available.

This may be a dumb question, and probably one for Fusick customer service, but would that Fusick tank have the fuel strainer/sock already installed inside I wonder? Or is that something you'd have to get separately?

I may just try cleaning the original tank out. Way cheaper. I just can't see spending close to 1k, with shipping, for a tank. Mine is solid, just has rust inside.

We have occasionally sent an old tank to a local radiator shop. They boil it out like a radiator and line it with some kind of goo. The goo is yellow and I sometimes think it's that old 3M weather strip adhesive. "super snot". If it's just a matter of dirt and rust, it works out well.

Thanks for the information, I will ask around to find out who does it.
