Toronado Gas Tank

I am wanting to purchase a gas tank for my 71 Toronado. I know it will have to come off a parts car because no one makes them anywhere that I can find. Please let me know Roy

I would like to hear of fuel tank availability for 71 and earlier Toronados.

All tanks here in MI are rusted away.

I woud think the 71 and 72 tanks would be the same since the bodies are the same. It also could be possible that all the second generation tanks would be the same but I dont know that for sure. Can anyone help me.

According to my Hollander interchange book, it is a 25 gallon tank and can be from a 71 or 72 Toronado. Greg.

Thanks for the info Greg. Well at least it was used on two model years. Seems like there is alot more 72 models than 71 . At least I know either one will work.

I have the same problem finding a gas tank for my 72 Eldorado convertible. I haven't found one in six months. Now I'm looking into the possibility of having a radiator shop repair (dip, solder and coat) my old tank so that I can get her back on the road. My first choice would have been to find a good tank but it seems there aren't any around. ~BOB

Have you verified that only 71-72 will fit? I've got a loose one from a 1967, and not sure I could get to them quickly but I also have 1968 & 1969 Toro parts cars.
