68 F85 options, Factory order info

Hello Old's fans,
Does anyone know where to look on the internet for original factory order information on 68 F85, Cutlass and 442 body cars? My mission is to replicate a 68 post car - 400 inch 4 speed, with minimal factory options... Or possibly a base 442 post coupe.

One question I have. If you ordered a 442, what were the additions to a base car? I think the 442 was a distinct car in 68 vs. an option on the Cutlass or F85. Appearance wise, it looks like a Cutlass S with a big engine and unique rear bumper.

So any site where I can get back to what the factory would/could have built would be helpful.

I don't think you could have ordered an F85 with a 400 back in 68, but if it were possible, I might build one that way.

Some of the appearance questions: Could you get a 442 without chrome roof drip rails, without the window chrome, without the upper body molding, without the wheel opening molding?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I think I see what you're after. Yes, the 442 was a separate model in '68. The attached will give you an idea what all came with it. You could get an F85 post V8 without all the trim, but not a 442 post.
You could get the 400 only in the 442 and F85 wagons.

So what you'd need to "replicate" is a 442 Sports Coupe with an M20 or M21.
The Anti-Spin was an option, so you'd need to "add" that too.

Kurt, Great information. I guess a 442 would have all the chrome moldings that I don't want. So I'll go the F85 route. Thank you for sharing your reference material.

This reminds me of a car I once ran across. It was a 1968 442 Sport Coupe with bench seat (a $55 or so credit option), HD three speed floor shift (base transmission in the 442) and NO other options. Probably the least expensive 442 you could have bought in 1968. Kinda cool in a perverse sort of way. Unfortunately the car was a complete rust bucket.
