Tie rod tool

OK, I'm not suggesting that people need to spend $80 on this tool, but I saw this and immediately thought about the problem of setting replacement tie rods to match the old ones so you can at least drive the car to the alignment shop. Seems to me that one could come up with something similar with a bar clamp and a couple of pieces of steel strip with a correct size hole in each.

I've gotten pretty close just with a tape measure and/or laying the old setup next to the new one.

To be honest, that's what I usually do, but then I have my own alignment equipment also.

What tools do you not own??!!

I think i can safely say many of us in readerland are envious of you. Not only because of the cool toys you have, but the fact you have the space for all of it!!
