Tie rod adjusting sleeve??

Which is the outer and inner tie rod, one tie rod was tightened into the adjusting sleeve using opposite thread and the other was normal thread. So which is the outer and which is the inner tie rod.

Thanks.

I've got tie rods and drag link from a 70 Chevelle in my stuff. It should be the same as Cutlass. The outer tie rods are right hand thread with the zerk on top. The inner are left hand threads with the zerk on the side. Inner and outer appear to be the same length.

Inner and outer tie rods are supposed to be opposite threads. The inner is the one that hooks up to the center link. The outer attaches to the steering knuckles.
