Lower steering column bearing 68 Cutlass.

I am having a heckuva time finding the lower bearing for my steering column. I have a 68 cutlass hardtop non-tilt column with floor shift. Anybody know of a reliable source to get the correct bearing for my car? Seeing a lot of reviews where people get the wrong size myself included. ID 1.0” OD small Step 1.435” W 0.5”

Thank you!

The original lower bearing P/N is 7804200. Search for that.

Thank you, Joe. Still having trouble finding the correct bearing. I found a thread on a C2 Corvette forum discussing how the 7804200 bearing was replaced on some later built 67 Corvettes. I believe it was recalled. The new bearing on the Corvette came with a new retaining sleeve as well, lol I wonder if the Cutlass had the same recall?

Is this the bearing you’re looking for?

This maybe the 2nd design you mentioned on the Corvette:

Another GM enthusiast website has a post stating possible other part numbers for that year GM lower shaft column bearing: 7802186, 7804200 and 7806142.

Thanks Tom. It could be however, I can’t tell from the photo if it’s a stepped outer casing. I will have to reach out to the seller and see if I can get some dimensions. Thanks for the other part numbers as well. They look familiar like I’ve already checked in with them, but I will take another look. Going on a camping trip for a couple days to reset the brain and then I’ll dive back into the steering column rebuild.
