1968 A-Body Disc Brake Conversion

Hi

I am working on helping my brother change over his 1968 Buick Skylark from front drum brakes to disc brakes. (I know, it's not an Oldsmobile, but I'm told the spindles, etc are the same)

I have been looking at different disc brake conversion kits and it looks like none of these kits include the bracket that goes from the tie rod end to the spindle. Is this bracket reusable from the old drum brakes for the disc brakes or is a new bracket required?

The bracket I am referring to is circled here:

Thanks for the help!

If they are designed as a conversion spindle and not factory disk brake spindles then they would have to be able to accept that arm or you wouldn't have any steering.

Lets call that arm the steering knuckle arm (plane arm?) Are you going with four piston calipers or single piston??

Thanks for the replies! I am looking to convert to the single piston caliper, the kind that is on the 70 cutlass/skylark/etc

The "bracket" is usually called the steering arm, and it is the same on all 1964-1972 A-body cars. Just reuse the old ones.
