67 C/S sway bar bushings

I have a 67 C/S, attempting to replace the front sway bar bushings. The top one is all new from fusick, but it does not fit. The bottom one is a urethane style but wrong size. When I was putting it together I had noticed the distance from the metal bracket to the frame. This is about 1/2” to 3/4” of extra rubber that will not compress. The Fusick guy did say he would take it back in a return and he’s had guys cut off the extra rubber to make it work. I have verified that it is the correct part number according to fusick. Any thoughts are always welcome.

I had the same issue, only place I could find that had them to fit a stock bracket was Inline tube, ordered them thru ebay. Price was cheaper and free shipping at the time.
15/16 bushings part number is ILN13145
1" is ILN13146
1 1/16 is ILN13147
1 1/8 is ILN13148

The extra rubber is SUPPOSED to be compressed. The bar is supposed to be held tightly. Any slop at that bushing allows unwanted motion in the bar, which negates some of the anti-roll stiffness it is supposed to provide. I've sometimes had to push up on the bracket with a floor jack and block of wood to get the bolts into the frame started. Note also that MANY sources list the bushing applications incorrectly. Did you first measure the diameter of the bar to ensure the bushing is correct? If you don't have a dial caliper, use an adjustable wrench and measure the gap between the jaws. All the bushings listed for my 67 Delta were incorrect for the factory 1" front bar. I had to use bushings for a 1971 Delta with the 1" bar. If all you want is rubber, there's no reason to pay a premium from specialty resto parts houses. RockAuto sells Moog bushings that are exactly the same for a lot less.

With the let’s get it going thought, I called MOOG. The dimensions of the bushing are correct (IAW the tech drawings that are the same for over 50 years). The fella said he will get back to me after he talks with the tech department. No breath holding here. I know the rubber needs to compress, the MOOG guy said it will only compress about 1/16”, that’s not going to help me too much. Will keep posted on what ever happens next
